Bahaa Bou Kalfouni is the founder of babu – space actions, is an architect and urban planner. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Urban Design and Regional Planning at Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT). He is also a researcher, exhibition curator, facilitator, and plenary speaker, actively engaged in advancing discourse on spatial justice and sustainable urban transformation. Bahaa is a member of the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) and served as a volunteer architect in humanitarian crises between 2011 and 2022. Bahaa Completed his bachelor’s studies in Lithuania at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), and studied at Brno University of Technology (VUT) – Faculty of Architecture (Erasmus exchange programme). Completed his Master’s degree at Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT) – Department of Environmental Design.

His research focuses on urban studies, with a particular emphasis on degraded urban areas. His work is deeply rooted in collaboration with professionals—architects, planners—as well as local communities and public authorities. He focuses on developing sustainable transformation design strategies that aim to create inclusive and equitable urban environments.
